Opana 40mg is an extended-release oral formulation of oxymorphone indicated for the management of moderate to severe pain when a continuous, around-the-clock opioid analgesic is needed for an extended period of time. The tablet strength describes the amount of oxymorphone hydrochloride per tablet. The tablets contain the following inactive ingredients: hypromellose, methylparaben, silicified microcrystalline cellulose, sodium stearyl fumarat.

OPANA ER is indicated for the relief of moderate to severe pain in patients requiring continuous, around-the-clock opioid treatment for an extended period of time.
Limitations of Usage this medication is not intended for use as an as needed analgesic. Opana ER is not indicated for pain in the immediate post-operative period if the pain is mild, or not expected to persist for an extended period of time.
This medication is only indicated for post-operative use if the patient is already receiving the drug prior to surgery or if the post-operative pain is expected to be moderate or severe and persist for an extended period of time. How to use Opana 40mg
Take this medication on a regular schedule as directed by your doctor, not as needed for sudden pain. Opana is taken orally without food (at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after eating) as directed by your doctor, usually every 12 hours. Swallow the tablets whole. Do not break, chew, dissolve, or crush them. Do not pre-soak, lick, or wet the tablets before putting them in your mouth. Opana 40mg
Take one tablet at a time with enough water to completely swallow the tablet. If you have nausea, ask your doctor or pharmacist about ways to decrease nausea (such as lying down for 1 to 2 hours with as little head movement as possible).
